I'm switching from bass clarinet to alto clarinet next year. Does anyone know anything about it?
I know the fingerings are the same as clarinet and bass clarinet.
Any information would be appreciated!
I know a little about the alto clarinet but not a lot! I play bass clarinet, soprano clarinet, and bari sax! Clarinets Rock!
all I know is that its the same fingering and that it's in E flat..
i played it for a year in jazz band. it's basically the same as bass, with a slightly smaller mouthpiece. i sit next to the alto clarinet in my wind ensemble, and their part is generally the same as the bass clarinet, with slightly more runs.
oh thats good then!
and I'll go with more runs.. it's better than straight quarter or eighth notes
yeah sorry i couldnt help...
I suppose it's similar to the Contra Alto in the fact it's in a different key...When I played the Contra Alto, you have to re-learn all the scales...But other than that, not much difference, I'd assume
more scales? no..:(
anyway, thanks and i like your icon!
